Fellowship Program Overview

btNOG is offering a limited number of Fellowships to professionals and students in Bhutan to participate in the upcoming btNOG11 Conference and Workshop in Thimphu from 4th – 9th August 2024

The purpose of the btNOG Fellowship Programme is to give opportunities to Bhutanese working in the ICT Community to participate in the Country’s premier Internet Operations and Technology summit. The human networking is an extremely important component for growing the Internet across the region, with the btNOG Fellows gaining valuable opportunities to meet Internet network professionals. This is in addition to the technologies and skills learnt or enhanced during the btNOG Workshops and the Conference itself.


Areas of Interest

Successful fellows will select a specific area of interest to focus their fellowship program. Areas of interest include:

  • Layer 1-3 Networking Fundamentals
  • Campus Network Design & Operations
  • Security (NetSec/InfoSec)

The level of experience in the chosen area of interest can be from beginner to advanced.

Fellowship Package

Full Fellowship – 10 Seats

Successful applicants will receive the following:

  • Accommodation with breakfast for the duration of the workshop and conference week
  • Certificate of achievement (upon successful completion of fellowship)
  • Complimentary registration to the workshop and/or conference week
  • Complimentary attendance to all the workshop and/or conference week social events

Partial Fellowship – 5 Seats

Successful applicants will receive the following:

  • Complimentary registration to the workshop and/or conference week
  • Certificate of achievement (upon successful completion of fellowship)
  • Complimentary attendance to all the workshop and/or conference week social events

Selection Process

A selection committee carefully evaluates all the applications. The committee selects the applicants it believes are best suited for the fellowships, taking into consideration a desire to provide opportunities to individuals from a diverse range of organizations, gender, and geographical locations within Bhutan. 

The decisions of the selection committee are final, and the selected applicants are informed individually. A list of selected Fellows is then announced on the btNOG website.

(Applicants who are not selected to receive a Fellowship award for the current btNOG workshop & conference are eligible and encouraged to apply for future btNOG events.)
